Hello Everyone!


The stress has been real these past few weeks, exams are creeping ever-closer but I'm ready to kick them in the butt! Who's with me?

If you have been with me for a while you may know that I am often amazed by the speed of the months that go by and I'm sure you are fed up with me saying it but it is so incredibly true! I may make today the last time I say that but we all know its not going to happen (sorry not sorry).

Anyway, things have been looking up this month! The first couple of months were downbeat and dreary as they often are but I feel like life is cheerier recently, I think its a mixture of the sun finally making an appearance and the thought of Summer just around the corner! Things are getting pretty intense at school again with a Spanish Controlled Assessment and Physics GCSEs coming up I'm in for a pretty awful couple of weeks. I hope you will understand if my posts are a bit sporadic during this time!

With a more positive month comes a myriad of favourites so without further ado, here they are!

As you may know, I bought myself a Fitbit Charge in January (if not see my January Favourites here) and I am still loving it but I am particularly enjoying bi-weekly challenges with my fellow Fitbit adorning friends! We tend to compete in the Workweek Hustle challenges with consists of 5 days (Monday-Friday) of constant competition and relentless prancing up and down your bedroom. I do love a bit of healthy competition especially with my friends and when I win *insert crying with laughter emoji here*!


The trendy ship sailed away for this one a while ago but, as I always, I was a bit late to the party! For £3.99 this palette is an absolute bargain an very pigmented too. I love the plum/pink shades in this Nude Rose edition; they seem quite unique in the drugstore, besides maybe the L'Oreal La Palette Nude, my favourite has got to be the forth pink-come-orange-come-nude shade that works perfectly all over the lid for a quick daytime look. To make this a ground-breaker I would add a few matte shades but you can't complain for the price!

I have been undergoing a pain-staking week of exams so I thought what better than this to use as part two of my 'School Life' series!

1. Revision, revision, revision.

I can't say I hate revision but I can say I despise it! I absolutely hate revision, all the study cards and paper flying everywhere, the late nights and last minute rush. However,done properly it can really boost your grades. Remember to take 'bite-sized chunks' (as my friend ingeniously put it) and take everything in if you aren't concentrating nothing will register. Also, before you revise decide whether you are a music or no music studier because, for some people, music can really throw them into a land of karaoke and Strictly Come Dancing!

2. It's all about you.

The week before your exams look after yourself! I know it can be hard but remember to eat healthily, get some exercise and go to bed earlier then usual. It really is fact that these three small factors will help you out big time!

3. The Big Day.

When it comes down to the actual exams my brain is an emotional, exhausted mess but I think that is just natural. I find though that as soon as I sit down and look at the first question I relax a little because I realise they are going to ask me about rocket science! I firmly suggest that you bring along a snack such as a banana as well as your lunch so you get the energy you need to not have to push yourself through.

4. The dreaded aftermath.

Obviously, all anyone wants to know after an exam is how well they did but I try (whether this be sucessful or not) and tear myself away from that and forget about the whole thing, to some degree, otherwise I find myself in a state of worry for the next few weeks.

Hello everyone!

As you all know, I am still at school, yes, it's a pain in the bum but it's not all that bad. I understand though that I am somewhat as a black sheep when it comes to this opinion therefore I have conjured up a few tips and tricks for you to get through it as smoothly as possible! If you are not in school I hope that you can relate!

Before we get going though here is what I have taken as my GCSE option for those of you that are interested:

• Geography
• Spanish
• Media Studies
• Drama

Friends and Relationships

When it comes to any stage of education friends are key. Although in year 7 I seemed to lose contact with a lot of my old friends, I made so many more on my way to where I am. Without my friends, school would be a pretty awful place to be, even in the most tedious revision lesson they can always keep my spirits up! My top, top tip is don't keep your eggs all in one basket, it's something my Mum has always said to me but it is so very true! The last thing you want to be doing is having an argument with one friend and consequently have no one to eat you lunch with that day. Secondly, always remember that having a boyfriend/girlfriend is totally overrated, seriously you have so many years ahead of you and so many other things to concentrate on that the last thing you want to worry about is having one! However, if you do have one don't let your relationship turn your friends away, anyone that does this isn't worth being with anyway.

Lesson Time

Now, undoubtedly the most important factor of school and yet the most detested. All you need to do is remember 'I am here for a reason, it'll be over soon!' Not only this but just a few years from now, fingers crossed, you will have a full-time job and a lot of responsibility so make the most of your freedom!

I know it can be easy to nod off during the lessons with the soothing tone of your teacher's voice reciting Pi and explaining the likes of Atomic Numbers and Solar Power but WAKE UP! Believe it or not by the time you reach your exams this information may be somewhat useful so I do insist that you sit up and get those ears-a-listenin'! 

Homework and Studying

8pm Sunday evening your watching some mundane family television and BOOM you remember that History project due in tomorrow, oh, and your physics test on Tuesday! Don't let this be you again and try your hardest to do your homework the night it's set. Easier said than done, I know, and I am the first one to put my hands in the air and say I have been there but it would make your life so much easier to get it over and done with!

As regards to studying, don't put it off, you can't learn what you don't know the night before whatever it may be! To make this process a little more bearable make sure that through the year you keep your books and resources tidy, at the time it doesn't matter but when you need them it really does!

Exams

Ah, the joys of exams! I find the process goes a bit like this: calm look over notes, slightly stressed reciting of facts, pacing your room with a pen in your mouth and book with worn spine in your hands, crying your worries away, calmer revision, frantic rush of information, sweating of palms in the exam hall and the restless aftermath until the moment you see your results! Skip all of this and keep it calm! What's the worst thing that could happen, eh? Just sit back and take a deeeeep breath, it'll be okay, you just have to believe in yourself!

Free time

All I can say is enjoy it because you only spend 2/7 days apart from the 's-word' and the only it is the only time your can truly tear yourself away from the stress and strain!
