Approx. 75g Raspberry or Strawberry Jam

Equipment:

2 Piping or Sandwich Bags
Large Star-shaped Nozzle
Baking Tray
Baking Parchment
Electric Hand Mixer

Method:

Preheat your oven to 170C (Fan)/190C/Gas Mark 5 and line a baking tray with baking parchment.

Use a clean round surface, such as a glass, to trace a guideline using a pencil. Mine were approx. 6cm in diameter. Make sure there is at least a 2cm gap between each one to leave room for the biscuits to spread out.

Combine your butter, flour, icing sugar, cornflour and vanilla essence in a bowl until smooth.

Spoon your mixture into a piping or sandwich bag with a star nozzle and pipe in circular motions within each of your outlines. If they're not perfect not to worry, they are homemade after all!

Place in the oven for 13-15 minutes in batches. Make sure you have an even number to make sandwiches!

Once your biscuits have cooled, whip your cream until it's very firm using an electric mixer.

OR 

Whizz up you butter, icing sugar and vanilla extract with an electric mixer.

Using a second piping bag with the same (clean) nozzle, pipe the cream or icing on the underside of every other biscuit. 

Spread a teaspoon of jam onto the underside of the biscuits without the cream/icing. Then place a jammed biscuit on top of a cream biscuit in a sandwich formation!

You now have some delicious summer treats!

If you have been with me for a while you may know that I am often amazed by the speed of the months that go by and I'm sure you are fed up with me saying it but it is so incredibly true! I may make today the last time I say that but we all know its not going to happen (sorry not sorry).

Anyway, things have been looking up this month! The first couple of months were downbeat and dreary as they often are but I feel like life is cheerier recently, I think its a mixture of the sun finally making an appearance and the thought of Summer just around the corner! Things are getting pretty intense at school again with a Spanish Controlled Assessment and Physics GCSEs coming up I'm in for a pretty awful couple of weeks. I hope you will understand if my posts are a bit sporadic during this time!

With a more positive month comes a myriad of favourites so without further ado, here they are!

As you may know, I bought myself a Fitbit Charge in January (if not see my January Favourites here) and I am still loving it but I am particularly enjoying bi-weekly challenges with my fellow Fitbit adorning friends! We tend to compete in the Workweek Hustle challenges with consists of 5 days (Monday-Friday) of constant competition and relentless prancing up and down your bedroom. I do love a bit of healthy competition especially with my friends and when I win *insert crying with laughter emoji here*!


The trendy ship sailed away for this one a while ago but, as I always, I was a bit late to the party! For £3.99 this palette is an absolute bargain an very pigmented too. I love the plum/pink shades in this Nude Rose edition; they seem quite unique in the drugstore, besides maybe the L'Oreal La Palette Nude, my favourite has got to be the forth pink-come-orange-come-nude shade that works perfectly all over the lid for a quick daytime look. To make this a ground-breaker I would add a few matte shades but you can't complain for the price!

1 in 3 women wear foundation (if my sources are correct) so I thought it was quite important that I covered it in today's post!

Buying

Personally, buying foundation is a nightmare! I just hate the whole shade matching process, but it is undoubtedly very important. First, make sure you are looking at the right foundation here are key words to look out for and what they mean:

Liquid, Powder and Cream - Three most common forms of foundation
Matte - Oily Skin
Dewy - Dry to Combo Skin
Full/High Coverage - Thicker formulation perfect for covering acne etc.
Light/Low/Sheer Coverage - Thinner formulation perfect for clear or very sensitive skin
BB Cream (Beauty Balm) - Moisturising, sheer coverage and very lightweight
CC Cream - Colour Correcting
Long Lasting - Heavier to last all day
Camera/Photo - Anti-flashback
Colour Match - Adapts to skin tone


As you can see there are so many to choose from so make sure you pick what right for you, if you are unsure ask a shop assistant and they will be willing to help. 

When you find the foundation that's right for you make sure you test the shades on your skin, dab a bit on your neck and don't just check inside, check out side in natural lighting too. Also, I suggest walking around the store for a bit too to make sure your skin doesn't react and the foundation doesn't change colour as it sets.

Applying

To apply my foundation I either use my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush or Beauty Blender (as I'm sure you've seen previously). I find that these two methods give an even coverage and make blending easy. When applying foundation start where you need most coverage, for me it's generally the centre of my face, and work you way outwards/inwards. Use dabbing or circular motions rather then strokes so you don't end up with streaks, this also gives the best coverage. Finally, remember to blend along your jaw and hair line, you know what I mean ladies!

Setting

To avoid looking shiny throughout the day I always set my foundation with powder. This, however, may not be an option for those with dry skin so for you I suggest using a setting spray instead, they work in the same way but in a liquid formulation! I like to use the Rimmel Stay Matte powder because at £3.99 it does a cracking job.
